SAN DIEGO (Nov. 15, 2011) – Indra Systems completed delivery of upgrades to the H-60 F/H flight simulator at U.S. Naval Air Station North Island, a move designed to boost the tactical proficiency of the Navy’s helicopter pilots and sensor operators. With the new upgrades, implemented by Orlando, Fla.-based Indra Systems, the Navy station’s H-60 F/H simulator now boasts high-resolution visuals, advanced acoustics and night-vision training.

“These new features have the capability to significantly enhance the training experience for U.S. Navy air crews,” said Indra Systems CEO David Fedor. “Improved sensory stimuli can create a much more realistic training experience, which we are confident will better prepare crews for the operational environment,” he said.

Indra Systems delivered a similar upgrade to an H-60 training device at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla., in November 2010. The H-60 F/H upgrade program, along with Indra’s MH-53E and American Eurocopter AS350, EC145 and EC 135 programs in the United States, marks a growing presence for Indra Systems in the rotorcraft-simulation industry.
